In the future I would like to run an actual Storyteller game but with a small and dedicated group who's interested and should it be:

Vampire
Werewolf
World of Darkness
Changling
Hunter

WHat will it be Ladies and Degenerates!

When you are ready I have been in touch with two different groups of GM's who take this game very seriously and have invited me to play...and those who might be interested.

The DM is called a "Storyteller" for a big reason. That is how the game is played. Hack-n-slash are not options.

That would be cool, I want to play in a Story before I run one but I need it to be good so that my influences are positive as a new Storyteller.

I'm partial to Changling. Werewolves and Vampires have been done by this group...

Its a horro based game, and as you have seen..most horror movies suck. Horror is hard to pull off. If these people are already playing we can learn a lot.

How is that game played? Is it board game or tabletop RPG I've been given the impression that is more the former less the latter...

Honestly I have no clue. I know the game was from the 80's and was recently reprinted. Guessing its a RPG that takes place in the 20's.

Random has played with an old RP buddy of the group... if he read all of the threads he could put his two-cents in.

Random. Now that you post, why not add something constructive? Tell us about your past OG experiences with this game.

After reading some of Racist ass Lovecrafts literature I'm sure the game is dark and sinister and entails a good amount of investigation and discovery. His characters are never 'Joe Shmoe' from off the street they are always learned men that stumble onto something dark and frightening. Call of Cthulu is probably along the same line... very lovecraftian( always wanted a reason to say that and mean it! Razz )

Could you guys explain more about what you're talking about? Is what you're talking about something like, everyone sits around and listen to the first person tell part of a story. Then he leaves it open ended so someone else can continue with the story and so on. Or is it more like Clue, where you have the main story teller explain what has happened and everyone goes around trying to figure out how this happened? Or am I completely on the wrong page ( like I think I am)?

World of darkness has astory teller (DM) and a story unfolds. The players have characters and theyinteract within this story; like a soap opera. This game system is not a combat game.

There are still dice rolls.

The only dice used are d10 also character generation is via a point system, so you decide its stats and abilities.

So it's like DQ but instead of having abilities like unarmed combat, you would have abilities like troubleshooting or inquizitiveness?

I still want to run this. It would be a Zombie Apocalypse that starts the morning after in the ruined shell of A City That Once Never Slept. I think I'll start making notes. Twisted Evil
