your mad silly lancelot. but im not going to lie this story sounds more epic than how we play it. i have to admit, he mentions the most important things and makes it feel like a novel or documentary that we are living through. i like it he doesnt mention all of our mistakes, and that makes the story really good. But wait till you hear about the hottness that happened yesturday!

Legend of the White Grape Ape

Wise men speak of a tale set in hiden valleys that litter The Black Mountain Range. This fable speaks of a group of adventures hot on the trail of massive men bent on evil deeds. They searched for days with only their conviction, luck and intuition to guide them. They were many but the story focuses primarily on a man Giant named Van, a monstrosity named Teffelyn, a little wee midget named Naz and their pet horse-thing Sagitarius. The tale, like most tales, starts out with the heroes testing their mettle against waves of Orcs and other such perils. It doesn't stand out until the elf Calm meets the Hermit.

High atop an obstructed ledge he sat, small yellow and wisened with age. Yet that wisdom made him immortal, his words timeless. Calm asked for enlightenment and the Hermit agreed to one day teach him. But Calm made the mistake of keeping the Hermit secret from the party and through unfortunate happenstance the yellow Goblin Druid met the final blade of Daichi Naillo. He mistook the interaction between monk and druid as a goblin attacking a fellow elf...

As the story progresses the party leave the craggy mountain vally completely and begin to delve into the lush and strange woods that followed. There they heard and smelled a strangeness. They found fruits of enormous and foreign proportions and sated their appetites on grapes the size of watermelon. It was during that first night in the woods that the group of adventurers met the Girallon, massive cousins to the Gorilla with white fur and four arms. the beast fought ferociously and if not for the quick thinking and bravery of Naz the party would have fallen.

The Legend of the White Grape Ape continues and the path of the party crosses them once more... but thatt's a tale for the next post.

Debates on the Legend of the White Grape Ape

There are many skeptics that dispute the existance of the four-amed Girallon due to the lack of physical evidence. Very few bones or fossils have survived long enough to be studied thanks to the vulcanism of The Black mountains and the ravinous nature of the apes' primary predators, The Lava Raptors. For whatever reason, less than twenty-five years after they were first reported to the historians of Earl James Jones at Fort Ediface the creatures had died out. Maybe they, in fact, had never lived in those high mountain valleys to begin with, or maybe something profound happened to their species. Perhaps a clue lies in the reports to Fort Ediface.

As the party led by Van Zan Shazam travelled through the jungle-like woods of the mountain valley they were very vigilant of any signs of being followed. Their encounter with the Girallon had left them wary. They moved as fast as caution would allow and collected what little food they could in order to suppliment their dwindling supplies. The account tells of the strange plant life encountered and the warm thickness of the air. It isn't until they come across a heavily trodden path that we find the relevant passage.

Calm, the elf monk, and Chase claim to have been attacked by an ape child while scouting the area. In a berserk fit Calm snatched the child out of the tree and tossed it to its death a few dozen feet bellow. Could this be the answer to our question? Was birth rate of the Girallon so low that the simple act of slaying one child irrivocablly destroyed their race? Maybe not, however this act of violence caused the nearby females that were docile in their obsevation of the party to fly into a murderous frenzy. The only thing that would stop their deadly attacks was to return their deadly force. It wasn't long before the better armed, no pun intended, and better trained warriors had complete dispatched the females. Some believe that this is the answer we seek. With the female Girallon slain the ability for the rare creature to procreate was removed.

If the White Grape Ape had existed it is now little more than a myth wrapped in the telling of a grander tale of men and demi-men on a quest to stop an agent of Chaos frm spreading its tendrils. Maybe the existance of this agent that drew the adventurers is the one to be blaimed for the lost of such magestic animals the likes of which may never be seen again.

We've played magic all week since no one was around it has been very trying for me as a game master. The fragility of the game is staggering. The Either no one wans to play or no one can make it. The one time that there were enough players it was voted that they wait for Van or higher level characters. The only roleplaying done this week was between Flow and myself using DQ (very fun, quick game).

If the game is not going to continue I need to know. I know I'm here everyday but I can make plans after work instead of staying after for nothing... plus planning adventures that no one will play is getting very old.

UPDATE

Not a damn thing...

FUCK! I was expecting some hot shit. We left off at a cliff hanger, in the lair of the giants.

For all of you punk ass's...I AM BACK! Now lets continue this dungeon or end it. Don't wast Lems time as a DM though.

Also, if people are loosing interest be honest. Speak up. Maybe oyu are all roleplaying out or is it just C&C?

Maybe it was bad timing and everyone was busy. Maybe.

Note: You're not missing anything so when you come back nothing will have changed in the Land of the Four... or where ever you guys are.

444 Re: Land of the Four: Revisited Season 3 on Mon Nov 15, 2010 2:12 pm

Yeah, its dead. The main character missed a week and those that came were unwilling to go on without him. That's when I realized that I'd given too much power to The Main Character and set out never make that mistake again. Everyone will be important, even if they don't do shit! Smile Good to see you're back... sucks that you haven't missed much. Just when it seemed that things were picking up a new flow everyone quit.

The truth is I was informed that no one was having fun and without chad, who was percieved as the new leader/main character no one had much motivation. Too many people miss too many sessions a week to keep up with the story and others showed no interest in fleshing out their new characters. When Leetin missed a week things could have still run smoothly however, Lancelot and Random both also missed that week. That left Phobos and Flow as the only consistant player... niether wanted to play without main character assistance and my resolve folded. Why plan for sessions when only one person shows up even when the table is full of thirteen bodies?

Its dead i tell you, dead.

I'm teaching Leetin DQ so that he can start his Steam Punk game, we'll see what happens there. I might reframe from GMing for a while in hopes of enjoying some mayhem as a Douchebag PC!

Did you mean its a Karp, like a Magikarp that evolves into a Garados? That's scary that you could mix those up. One is a big fish and the other is, well... its a tarp!

Or did you mean its a tramp, that makes more sense. Shaun was always a man whore and now the truth has come out...
